What is the most important fact from each video that I think will help me in using InDesign?
1. What is InDesign?: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/how-to/what-is-indesign.html?set=indesign--get-started--overvie
- InDesign is a great program for composing professional still and interactive text and graphic documents.
2.) Creating a New Document: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/how-to/new-document-in-indesign.html?set=indesign--fundamentals--indesign-workspace
- InDesign has both customizable and previously made templates to help create print, web, and mobile based documents.
3.) Add Text to Frames: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/how-to/indesign-add-text-to-frames.html?set=indesign--get-started--essential-beginners
- InDesign is characterized by its ability to organize text and image through frames or boxes which can be adjusted in proportion.
4.) Selecting and Editing Text: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/how-to/indesign-selecting-and-editing-text.html?set=indesign--fundamentals--work-type
- There are many shortcuts in InDesign to help you stay involved with the spacings and amount of text in each area. Info will provide you with a word and character count and command "a" will highlight the entire frame of text. Edit- paste without formatting is another helpful trick to easily paste text into your preferred font and text styles.
5.) Working with Character Styles: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/how-to/indesign-formatting-text-character-styles.html?set=indesign--fundamentals--work-type
- Character styles are a more specific way to alter parts of text.
6.) Working with Paragraph Styles: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/how-to/indesign-formatting-text-paragraph-styles.html?set=indesign--fundamentals--work-type
- Paragraph styles are more of a parent style to the text and once a style is chosen for a text you can keep referring back to that style to provide continuity to text based documents.
